Liverpool have decided to hold off for now on a move for Alexander Isak and will revisit the Newcastle striker’s transfer after June?30.
The 25?year?old Swede is seen as Liverpool’s top attacking target this summer, but the club will wait until the Premier League’s Profit & Sustainability Regulations cycle resets, giving them more financial freedom.
Newcastle are determined to keep him and are reportedly ready to make him their highest-paid player, offering over £150,000 per week.
Isak still has three years remaining on his current deal, which runs until 2028, meaning Newcastle hold a strong negotiating position and Reds would likely need a record fee to tempt them.
As transfer expert Jacob Ben explained, “Liverpool won’t give up on Alexander Isak, but they know they can’t move now while Newcastle’s situation is unclear.”
“They’ll wait to see if an opportunity opens up — and if it does, they’re ready to bid, but only if that dream target is truly feasible.”

Liverpool have already spent more than £216?million this summer, including the British?record fee for Florian Wirtz, along with signings like Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong, and Giorgi Mamardashvili.
The sale of Darwin Nunez and possibly Jarell Quansah could help fund a major Isak bid, but the Reds will not move for just any striker
With 54 Premier League goals and 10 assists in 86 appearances since joining Newcastle.
Isak has shown he can perform reliably in the Premier League — the exact standard Liverpool expect, rather than taking a chance on a less proven option.
If the conditions are right after June?30, Isak remains the priority target — but only on Liverpool’s terms.
